Dental implants are a replacement for missing teeth. Instead of a removable, full or partial denture, a dental implant can permanently replace as little as one or two teeth. Implants reduce the risks of bone loss, periodontal disease, tooth movement, and further tooth loss. The actual implant is a small titanium screw that is implanted directly into the jawbone, with very little discomfort to the patient. In a small number of cases, your body may reject the implant. In the vast majority of cases, the bone fuses around the implant within a few months, and the implant becomes the anchor for a new, synthetic tooth that will look and function like a natural tooth.
Who places the implants?
Serenity Dental Spa’s periodontists are specialists in placing implants.
Do you restore or place them?
Dr. Shahabi also places implants, and will maintain your implant if it needs restoration.
How long does the whole process take from implant to final cap?
The dental implant takes at least four months to allow the bone to grow around the implant. Once completed, your implant will last forever, assuming no traumas or anything out of the ordinary.
Will patients ever have a pole in their mouth without a tooth?
No, the patient will have a temporary crown to conceal the implant at all times. Dr. Shahabi makes sure your smile looks good throughout the implant process so you can feel confident in your smile.
