Incorporating sustainable building materials, eco-friendly finishes, and energy efficient equipment and lighting, Serenity Dental Spa has developed a truly Sustainable Dental Care Environment.

Founders Profile
Serenity Dental Spa was founded by Dr. Sheila Shahabi in 2006. A Dental Care practitioner since 1999, Dr Shahabi is a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and received her undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley. While working in private practice throughout the Bay Area, Dr. Shahabi began to develop a new dental-care concept based upon proactive patient relationships, a deep respect for the environment, and her desire to provide service in a welcoming, spa-like setting. Serenity Dental Spa is the culmination of these ideas.

Sustainable Practice
At Serenity Dental Spa, we believe it is our collective responsibility to nurture the world around us. We operate our practice sustainably. Respect for the environment influences all aspects of our daily operations, including the following examples:

• Steam-based hospital-grade instrument sterilization processes that release no harmful chemicals to the environment.
• Filtration system designed for the ecologically sound disposal of mercury fillings and other environmental toxins.
• Digital patient charting and x-ray imaging, reducing 95% of standard radiation emissions and significantly reducing paper usage
• Energy efficient lighting, equipment and appliances.
• Extensive use of recycled and eco-friendly office supplies, detergents and materials.
